The Mystery of the Yellow Room

Sainclair, a paper character, emerges from the columns of a 1907 newspaper page to tell us about the curious Yellow Room case that his journalist friend Rouletabille investigated on. Caught up in the thrill of his story, proud to have the final word on a case that so many people have worked on, he takes huge strides across the pages of the newspaper, coming back to the scene of the crime and meeting his protagonists.

This film, inspired by the first page of the book The Mystery of the Yellow Room written by Gaston Leroux, is part of the first season of ‘First Page,’ a collection of eleven short films created by young animators recently graduated from French animation schools. This collection celebrates Francophone literature by offering an animated interpretation of the first page of a book of their choice.
