Giannalberto Bendazzi Prize

In 2022, the PIAFF team decided to add an honorary prize to its list of awards: the Giannalberto Bendazzi Prize, named after one of the greatest lovers of animated cinema, a prolific author of numerous texts and books, and an untiring advocate for what remained a lifelong passion.

This award aims to honor individuals whose work helps us better know, appreciate, and understand animated cinema: festival organizers, journalists, specialists, cinema operators, researchers… invaluable and essential mediators that PIAFF seeks to highlight. These are the men and women who, through their passion for frame-by-frame imagery, allow us to (re)discover hidden treasures of the past, as well as today’s works and artists, and those who contribute to shaping the animation of tomorrow.
