One night, all the women up and leave the farm, but there’s a boy who’s sweet on one of ’em, though she don’t know. She’s off to marry someone else in big ol’ Berlin, even orders her weddin’ shoes from Amazon. The family gathers in the front yard, waitin’ for the package. That boy dreams of meetin’ her by the pig pen, wearin’ nothin’ but them weddin’ shoes. Days later, she’s long gone, and he’s sittin’ by the road, waitin’ on a bus to take him away. But it passes by, and he just keeps on waitin’ forever.
