Esplin is that instant when everything turns into chaos through the creation of dreamlike worlds that, despite seeming beautiful, are so overloaded with information that they become overwhelming. They are packed so tightly that a simple change—like a touch or a drop—makes everything shatter and scatter through the air. Then, the worms inhabiting these worlds paint the cracks of the reconstructed objects with gold, representing Kintsugi, the Japanese art of learning to love our inevitable scars.
